Daniel Henao Escobar (Medellín, 1993) holds a degree in Sociology (2020) from the University of Antioquia, Colombia; He is a specialist in Memory, Human Rights and Resistance from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences, Brazil (2021); and holds a Master's degree in Research Methods and Innovation in Social Analysis from the University of A Coruña (2024), Spain. His research focuses on memory studies, repertoires of violence and resistance in contexts of political violence and peacebuilding, developing comparative and participatory work between Colombia and Spain.

 

She is currently pursuing doctoral studies in the Contemporary History Programme at the University of Santiago de Compostela with the thesis Bodies and communities that (do not) rest: repertoires of life of victims' movements in the face of prolonged political violence in Galicia and Antioquia, under the supervision of Antonio Míguez Macho, member of the HISTAGRA group.


He has collaborated on research and intervention projects focused on the study of armed conflicts and resistance in urban and rural settings, as well as on documenting the experiences of communities affected by violence. He has also participated in the preparation of memory reports for entities such as the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP) and the Truth Commission (CEV) in Colombia. His contributions seek to strengthen historical clarification, the recognition of plural memories, and the processes of transitional justice and peacebuilding from a critical perspective.
