Pilar López (1955) has been a university school professor at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela since 1986, where she teaches at the Facultade de Humanidades (School of Humanities) in the Lugo Campus.

Her lines of research cover contemporary agrarian history. Her studies have focused on the analysis of agricultural structures, particularly the evolution of land ownership in relation with the process of redemption of the land use rent in the 19th century, in the territorial sphere of the province of Lugo.
