Premiere of the documentary Removendo a terra, a work by Antonio Caeiro
In 2021, the University of Santiago de Compostela signed a research agreement with the Xunta de Galicia to develop the Quadrennial Plan for Democratic Memory. This research was carried out by an interdisciplinary team made up of historians, archaeologists, forensic scientists and geneticists, members of different USC research groups.
The actions that were carried out were: Documentation, exhumation, forensic and genetic analysis of the mortal remains found in the mass graves of Vilagarcía de Arousa and Creciente. http://fosas.nomesevoces.net/lugares/cartografia
In addition, other initiatives were carried out, including the collaboration with the Faiado da Memoria de Vilagarcía for the production of a documentary based on previous works of the Faiado and those developed by the investigation team in the Rubiáns pit in November 2021. The result of this is what we present on May 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the USC Auditorium (Plaza de la Universidad, 1): The documentary REMOVENDO A TERRA, a work by Antonio Caeiro and Margarita Teijeiro
About the documentary:
Work carried out from the exhumation carried out in the common grave of the Vilagarcía de Arousa cemetery in the first weeks of November 2021 in order to document the opening process as well as the dignity of the people who there They were buried between 1936 and 1939.
