EO ALIMENTA: Training Session Improving the Quality of Group Processes

The Participatory Food Strategy is a process, a broad conversation between entities, groups and people who come together to think together to think about how to achieve a more sustainable diet, closer to the earth, in short, closer. Throughout this year, internal and public debate sessions are being held with which we will collectively think about the difficulties and / or scope of a food strategy.

This strategy is based on the Research - Action - Participatory methodology where it is the community itself that is generating concrete responses to the different problems that surround the food chain. Through this process we seek to improve the economic conditions of people who work in the fields, eat healthier or reduce the use of fossil fuels, among other issues. With this process we try to provide alternatives for change and transformation, that is why the process lasts for more than one year. The debate takes time.

These processes are complex, in them there are doubts about the scope, or tensions due to temporalities, some require greater agility, others more calm, this can cause tensions, that is why it is important to give the group quality space to meet those demands or desires. Listening is key, for this reason we will celebrate the Training Pill Improving the Quality of Group Processes, which will take place on Friday, October 29, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Ribadeo Youth House.

This short session aims to address some basic knowledge about the need to incorporate group facilitation tools in collective processes. This first session will be led by the facilitator Verónica Campos (Melencha), an environmental educator with 20 years of experience in environmental participation, education and communication processes.

The training session is open to all those interested in incorporating these tools into group processes or for those who wish to facilitate positive and satisfactory changes in their organizations, groups or communities, in a participatory way.
