The plenary session of the Royal Galician Academy, which met yesterday afternoon, 7 April, in an extraordinary session, supported the candidacy of Henrique Monteagudo (Muros, 1959) for the presidency of the institution. The fourteenth president of the RAG will be accompanied on the executive committee by Ana Boullón Agrelo as secretary; María López-Sández as treasurer; María Dolores Sánchez Palomino as librarian archivist and Lourenzo Fernández Prieto as deputy secretary.
According to Fernández Prieto, "The brotherhood of our language with Portuguese is one of our riches; a comparative advantage, economically placing them in the best position in Europe to negotiate, trade and establish cultural, scientific and university bridges with the African and American world. "Your presence on the board of the Royal Galician Academy will be to put these ideas into practice.
