HISTAGRA trainee researcher Xurxo Antelo has been awarded a research grant by the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian to carry out the research: Os bairros sociais para pescadores nas áreas metropolitanas de Porto e A Coruña durante o Estado Novo (1933-1974) e o Réxime Franquista (1939-1975). This work will conclude with an academic publication. The period of work is from October 2024 to March 2025.

He is currently working on his doctoral thesis in Contemporary History at HISTAGRA-USC, research in which he studies the study of elites and political clientelism in the Transition to democracy in Galicia, focusing on the patrimonial uses of political power from a local and rural perspective.
