Isaac Martín Nieto (Villanueva de la Serena, Badajoz, 1986) is a Doctor of History from the University of Salamanca thanks to the thesis «Castilla libre. Anarchists and peasants in Castilla la Nueva during the Spanish civil war (1936-1939) ». He has been an associate professor in the Department of Medieval, Modern and Contemporary History at the University of Salamanca, where he also received a grant for the Training of Research Personnel. He has participated in the Research Project «The political violence of 1936 and July 18 as a breaking point. A micro analysis ”, financed by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness and by the European Regional Development Fund (HAR2015-65115-P). And he has published several books, articles and book chapters and has participated in numerous national and international conferences and seminars. His lines of research include Spanish anarchism, agrarian history, political violence, the Spanish civil war, and the history of 20th-century Spain. He is currently developing a comparative research project on the mobilization of peasants by anarchists in Spain, Argentina, Portugal and Sweden.
